We can’t wait to share how BVCS nurtures and equips students from preschool through high school to be Lions for Life...ready to impact the world for Christ.
Board & Budget Update: A Strong Start to the Year
At BVCS, we want our families to feel informed and confident about the direction of our school. Each month, our School Board meets to pray, review progress, and ensure we’re aligned with our mission: to nurture and equip students to impact the world for Christ.
In September, the Board welcomed seven new faculty members with dinner in the Fireside Room—a wonderful reminder of the strength and growth of our team. They also reflected on where our mission and vision are being lived out across campus, and shared updates on upcoming events and priorities for the year.
Financially, we’re encouraged by a strong start to the year. Preschool and JH/HS are both performing ahead of budget expectations, thanks to healthy enrollment and careful expense management. K–6 is tracking slightly better than projected despite some added facilities costs. In addition, generous early giving to the IMPACT Fund and Tuition Assistance has provided a meaningful boost, ensuring we’re positioned well moving forward, as we budget for over $200, 000 in IMPACT Fund giving each year through individual gifts and our fund raising events.
The takeaway: God is providing for BVCS through committed families, faithful giving, and the dedication of our staff and board. We are grateful for your prayers and partnership as we continue to build momentum this school year.
Prioritizing Campus Safety with Rank Security
At Big Valley Christian School, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains one of our highest priorities. Creating an environment where students can learn, grow, an thrive requires both excellence in education and intentional care for their security.
That’s why we are grateful for our partnership with Rank Security, a professional security company that provides trained officers to support our campus. Their presence offers more than just peace of mind—it ensures that BVCS is equipped with highly qualified professionals who understand both proactive and responsive safety practices.
Why Rank Matters:
Professional Expertise – Rank officers are trained to recognize potential risks and address them with professionalism and discretion.
Visible Protection – Their daily presence reassures students, staff, and parents that safety is never an afterthought.
Collaborative Partnership – Rank works closely with BVCS leadership to align with our protocols, making sure safety is embedded in every part of campus life.
While education is the heartbeat of our school, safety is the foundation. By partnering with Rank and welcoming their officers onto our campus, we strengthen our ability to nurture and equip students in a secure, Christ-centered environment.
Although we've had the luxury of having one officer each year, Rank cannot guarantee one officer. We work closely with Rank and each officer that comes to the BVCS campus to ensure communication and consistency. Juvi, our security officer for most of last year, is no longer patrolling for Rank, and we will miss her--yet we are thankful for each officer that helps protect the BVCS campus.
At BVCS, we believe students learn best when they feel safe—and through this partnership, we are taking intentional steps to safeguard their future.,
Mosquito Spraying in Our Community:
We want to keep you informed regarding mosquito spraying in our community:
Eastside Mosquito Abatement posts spray maps and schedules a few days in advance at eastsidemosquito.com(see the Media section).
Spraying in our area generally occurs between 8:30–11:00 PM. When possible, they will delay spraying near BVCS until after 10:00 PM to reduce overlap with school events.
The product used is targeted toward mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus and is applied in very small amounts (less than a tablespoon per acre).
For safety, the agency recommends that residents stay indoors and keep doors/windows closed during spraying times.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we prioritize both the health and safety of our community and the activities that make BVCS special.
