A NOTE FROM LEADERSHIP:
Dear BVCS Families,
Three days completed and it was a lot! Even before our students returned, we held ROAR Day on Monday and an All-Staff meeting on Tuesday. We had a great first day of school on Wednesday and followed it up with a wonderful turn-out for Back to School Night on Thursday. There is a super energy in the building and a sense of expectation for a great year in just these first days together.
Next Monday, we will officially kick off our year as an entire school community with our first All-School Chapel. This year, our chapel theme is David: Shepherd, King, Servant, grounded in 1 Samuel 13:14 and the picture of a leader who is “a man after God’s own heart.” Throughout the year, we’ll return repeatedly to one important question:
Who sits on the throne in your heart?
It’s a question for our students, but it’s also a question worth asking as adults. Our hope is that everything we do at BVCS whether it's in class, through athletics, the arts, friendships, service, or leadership that we continually point ourselves back to Jesus as King.
As we finish this first week and look toward the year ahead, I want to say that I am fully aware that you are entrusting us with your most precious possessions, your children. Thank you for allowing us to partner with you on their behalf. Please join us in praying that God will use this year to shape the hearts and lives of our students in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.
I am truly excited for what’s ahead.
All the best,
David O’Leary
Superintendent
