“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others…” 1 Peter 4:10
Last week, we looked at Nehemiah and the burden God placed on his heart to rebuild Jerusalem. Nehemiah saw what was broken, prayed, and then stepped forward to build.
But there is something important we cannot miss:
Nehemiah did not build alone.
Different people. Different gifts. One purpose. One wall. One mission.
The same is true at Big Valley Christian.
As parents, you are not simply watching your children participate in athletics.
You are helping build and investing in them.
Every ride to practice, every conversation after a tough game, every prayer before competition, every sacrifice of time, and every encouraging word is a stone in the wall.
And sometimes the most important moments happen when nobody is watching.
That is building and investing in a legacy.
At BVCS, we want our student-athletes to become young men and women who know who they are, understand whose they are, and are prepared to use their gifts to serve others and Christ.
That doesn't happen in one practice, one game, or one season.
It happens together.
As we begin this new school year, I want to encourage you as parents:
Don't underestimate your role.
Your influence may feel ordinary today, but God can use ordinary moments to shape extraordinary lives.
Nehemiah and the people could not see the finished wall while they were building it. They simply remained faithful to the work in front of them.
That's our calling too.
Let's keep building a culture where excellence is pursued, character is developed, community is strengthened, and Christ is honored.
Because someday our children will leave our teams, our classrooms, and our homes, and the question we need to ask ourselves is:
“What did we do to build a Christ legacy?”
Let's keep building.
Ready to Lead.
Ready to Serve.
Ready to Go.
