At Big Valley Christian School, the safety of our students is one of our highest priorities. In light of recent events in our culture, we have strengthened our procedures in several key areas to ensure that BVCS remains a place where children feel protected while they are nurtured in their faith and academics.
Daily Campus Safety: Rank Security - We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Rank Security, a professional security company that provides trained officers on our campus. Their presence provides:
Professional Expertise – Officers are trained to recognize potential risks and respond quickly.
Visible Protection – Their daily presence offers assurance to students, staff, and families.
Collaborative Partnership – Rank works closely with our leadership to align with BVCS protocols.
While we cannot always guarantee the same officer each day, we work closely with Rank to maintain consistent communication and expectations. Their officers are a visible reminder that safety is never an afterthought at BVCS.
Visitor Safety: Raptor Management System - Every adult visitor on our campus is required to check in through our Raptor Visitor Management System. This ensures that:
All visitors present a government-issued ID before entering beyond the office.
Visitor badges must be visibly worn at all times at collar level.
Any adult without a badge is immediately escorted back to the office for verification.
Student tardies and late arrivals are also managed through Raptor, providing teachers with printed slips for accountability.
This system allows us to quickly verify who belongs on campus and who does not, providing an added layer of daily protection for our students.
Chapel-Specific Safety Procedures - Because chapel involves larger gatherings and student transitions, we have implemented additional safeguards:
Chapel doors remain locked during services with staff monitoring entrances.
Security officer presence in chapel or patrolling while students walk to/from the Venue.
Visitors must complete Raptor check-in and wear a badge before entering chapel.
Staff with radios are stationed at key access points to ensure real-time communication.
Clear signage at entrances directs guests to proper check-in.

Together, we remain committed to building a Christ-centered, secure environment where students are equipped for both today and the future.
Prioritizing Campus Safety with Rank Security
At Big Valley Christian School, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains one of our highest priorities. Creating an environment where students can learn, grow, an thrive requires both excellence in education and intentional care for their security.
That’s why we are grateful for our partnership with Rank Security, a professional security company that provides trained officers to support our campus. Their presence offers more than just peace of mind—it ensures that BVCS is equipped with highly qualified professionals who understand both proactive and responsive safety practices.
Why Rank Matters:
Professional Expertise – Rank officers are trained to recognize potential risks and address them with professionalism and discretion.
Visible Protection – Their daily presence reassures students, staff, and parents that safety is never an afterthought.
Collaborative Partnership – Rank works closely with BVCS leadership to align with our protocols, making sure safety is embedded in every part of campus life.
While education is the heartbeat of our school, safety is the foundation. By partnering with Rank and welcoming their officers onto our campus, we strengthen our ability to nurture and equip students in a secure, Christ-centered environment.
Although we've had the luxury of having one officer each year, Rank cannot guarantee one officer. We work closely with Rank and each officer that comes to the BVCS campus to ensure communication and consistency. Juvi, our security officer for most of last year, is no longer patrolling for Rank, and we will miss her--yet we are thankful for each officer that helps protect the BVCS campus.
At BVCS, we believe students learn best when they feel safe—and through this partnership, we are taking intentional steps to safeguard their future.
