The Do-A-Thon is coming in November! Did you know that we have several missionary partners that we serve through this project at each grade level?
Our school-wide Do-A-Thon is a service event with the goal of encouraging our students and families to serve others while raising money for BVCS. Instead of a jog-a-thon or other event, we strategically chose a Do-A-Thon to align this school fundraiser with our mission “to nurture and equip students to impact the world for Christ”.
Like last year, we partnered each grade level with a mission partner. Ten percent of what each class raises will again go to their assigned mission partner. Throughout the year our classes are also encouraged to connect with our mission partners to see how they can learn about their mission, pray for them, and support tehm in other ways if possible. For our 7th-12 grade students, we also provide an opportunity for them to serve at ministries on February 2nd, 2024 from 9AM-3PM. The following partnerships have been established:
PS: Wycliffe, Bible translation for the deaf
TK/K: Africa, Agape Children's Ministry
1st Grade: Asia, EquipNet
2nd Grade: Indonesia, Partners International
3rd Grade: Mexico, Rancho Santa Marta Orphanage
4th Grade: Slovenia, United World Mission
5th Grade: Germany, Kontakt Mission
6th Grade: Mission India
7th Grade: Advancing Vibrant Communities
8th Grade: Love Modesto
9th Grade: Modesto Gospel Mission
10th Grade: Vine House
11th Grade: Modesto Pregnancy Center
12th Grade: Redwood Center
We want to encourage our local and global mission partners as our school learns more about what they are doing for the Lord to bring the Gospel to where God has placed them. We pray that the Do-A-Thon and our mission partnerships will stir our student’s hearts to join in Kingdom work.
SEPTEMBER'S PARENT & STUDENT INFO SESSION
Be sure to attend upcoming information session about the dangers of vaping on Wednesday, September 27 starting at 6 p.m. in the Fireside Room.
VOLUNTEER
We need you! Volunteer by going to our Helper Helper app. Check back regularly for updated opportunities.
GET CONNECTED
We believe that the Christian life is best lived in the context of community. In a Life Group, you will find a place to connect with other Christians, study God’s Word, and encourage one another as you pray, care, and share life together.
The purpose of Life Groups at Big Valley Grace is to connect believers together in small communities where they will grow in their relationship with God and each other as they walk through life together. Life Groups offer opportunities to support one another and to serve and reach their world for Christ.
SERVE
There's an exciting serve opportunity for anyone 13 years old and up! The Miracle League of Stanislaus County is looking for Buddies for their special athletes. Their field is located on our property right next to the Pelandale slip-ramp onto our campus. Opening Day is just around the corner and they need your help. Sign up to be a part of this special ministry for those with special needs in our community.
COMING SOON - COMING OUT AGAIN: ONE DAY CONFERENCE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14 @ CALVARY CHAPEL
Kris Olsen, founder of Coming Out Again Ministries, along with Kevin Whitt and Chloe Cole, will share their testimonies of how God rescued them from same-sex attraction and transgenderism. They will also provide a biblical model for reaching the LGBTQ community with the Gospel message, speaking the truth in love without compromising truth.
Erin Friday, an attorney, and advocate for parents rights, will share her experience walking her own teenage daughter out of the trap of transgenderism. Erin will also provide parents with the information needed to protect their own children from the hostile agenda of Sacramento legislators who are pushing the LGBTQ agenda.
In our closing session we will provide a biblical apologetic to equip attendees with the foundation to lovingly engage those who oppose the biblical truth regarding God’s design for human gender and sexuality.
Cost is $20 per person, which includes the conference and lunch.
We shared a staffing update that will take place starting the 2024-2025 school year. You can read the email/letter here:
