Dear Senior Family,
Here’s an overview of the exciting events coming near!
Participation
Participation in the high school graduation ceremony and senior trip will be granted to those students who complete the following requirements:
260 minimum required credits.
A student with lower than a 2.0 GPA may be in danger of not graduating.
The school tuition account and all other fees are current.
All property belonging to BVCS must be cleaned and returned.

GRADUATION SURVEY
Submit college acceptances, military commitments, trade school & future career plan for Senior Snapshot by completing the graduate survey. Every graduate must submit any changes by May 1st to be included in the graduation program and Senior Slides.
May 20-21
SENIOR FINALS
If you have a 92% or better overall grade in a class, you will not have to take the final for that class.
Finals will be taken in the FIRESIDE ROOM at 8:20 AM or 10:30 AM on May 20th and 21st.
We will have all the copies of your finals in the Fireside Room.
You need to sign up to take your finals beginning Monday, May 4 in the front office.
You must sign in at the Fireside Room and arrive at the start time for your final.
Phones may NOT be seen/out at all in the Fireside Room. If you need to use your phone to communicate with your parents for a ride, you will need to do so once leaving the Fireside Room.
You can take more than one final in a block of time.
When you finish your last final of the day, you may leave campus.

SENIOR COMMISSIONING CHAPEL
Commissioning Chapel - Our Senior Commissioning Chapel will take place on Friday, May 22 beginning around 10:30 AM in the Worship Center. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. At the end of chapel you will have the opportunity to pray with your student.
Graduation Parade - Our Seniors will parade through our campus after the Commissioning Chapel. You’ll want to stay for this fun event, celebrating your child’s 13 years.
Graduation Cap Decorations - Seniors will receive directions for Grad Cap decor during the Senior lunch meeting, April 29th, and final design will be submitted to be approved by Jackie Ward no later than Senior Commissioning Chapel on May 22nd. You can read all the details HERE.
*Seniors receive their caps and gowns after Chapel to wear in the parade. Seniors who already have a gown need to bring it on Friday 5/22 for the parade.

Locker Clearing/Cleanup All senior lockers (inside and out including any decor/painting- this includes the front of locker decorations) will need to be cleaned out by Friday, May 22rd at 4:00 PM.

SENIOR BREAKFAST/AWARDS AND GRADUATION PRACTICE
8:45 a.m. Senior Breakfast Seniors and parents are invited (no cost) to a breakfast hosted by the junior class where we celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026. This special event is for senior students and two guests only.
9:30 a.m. Senior Awards Ceremony in the Venue We will have our Senior Awards after breakfast in the Venue. We will be handing out awards, certificates, and cords during this time. Additional seating is available at 9:30 a.m. in the Venue for family members wishing to attend the Awards Ceremony. The attire is dressy/not casual and must be in compliance with the BVCHS dress code as stated in the handbook.
Graduation Practice - Seniors will practice right after the Senior Awards Ceremony.
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
6:00 p.m. Individual Pictures (in cap/gown) - Will be taken on May 29 prior to the graduation ceremony at 6:00 p.m. Individual pictures will take place in the Altar Room.
7:00 p.m. Graduation - Graduation will take place in the Worship Center. No tickets are required.
Dress Code: (along with the Cap and Gown) for graduation:
Gentlemen: Dress pants, collared dress shirt with a tie and dress shoes. (No sneakers or skate style shoes.)
Ladies: Dresses, skirts, or pants that meet or exceed school dress length, with dress shoes. (No sneakers or skate style shoes.)

We have been made aware that “Senior Assassin” is starting for the Class of 2026. We want to make you aware that BVCS does not support or allow this game on school grounds. Every year this game presents issues among our students that sometimes are taken to the extreme and impact on-campus learning. This is not aligned with our expectations and will not be permitted. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at 209-571-4800.

Cost and Payments
Estimated cost is $675. If cost is a deterrent, please contact Jackie Ward. The only additional costs for the student are for food May 24 - 27th.

Payments can be made with cash or checks in the front office. Credit card/bank may be paid through a FACTS form link that will be sent out.
Attached is also the paper that needs to be signed and returned with the trip deposit on September 30th.

Welcome to your SENIOR YEAR! We wanted to give you as much information as we currently have regarding senior events, due dates, and expenses.
August 25 Powder Puff Meeting at lunch in the Gym. Powderpuff signups deadline is Friday, September 5, 2025.
September 5 Powderpuff signups and money are due no later than Friday, September 5,
2025.
September 9 Jostens meeting w/Seniors at lunch in Gym to discuss cap and gown.
September 17 Senior Trip meeting w/Seniors at lunch in Rm 101 to discuss Senior Trip
September 19 $225 non-refundable deposit for Senior Trip due to secure a space
The cost of the Senior Trip will be approximately $725. Students and families will receive more information regarding all aspects of the trip to consider & sign before this date.
Sept 29-Oct 1 Powder Puff Football
The competition is fierce! Who will claim this year’s victory in the Powder Puff Football?!
All Powder Puff Football practices will take place at lunch during the week of September 22.
Championship Game: Wednesday, 10/1, during advisory.

Email a digital copy to jackiew@bvcs.org or bring in a hard copy to be scanned, we will need a jpg or png file of the picture you choose from you or your photographer by November 1st. We would like the original photo and not a mobile screenshot. Large image file size, please.
There are no restrictions on your choice of photographer. Find a photographer and set up an appointment as soon as possible.
There is no specific dress code other than to follow the school dress code and look nice.
Early November Cap & Gown - Approximately $35
You will be getting more information about this, but typically, if you get your order in during this time, the cost is half of what it will be later in the year. If you want, you may also order announcements, class rings, etc,. during this time.

Come one and all to celebrate the BVCS Class of 2026. This event is hosted at the Big Valley Grace Community Church Worship Center. No tickets are required.
