Our goal with this part of the Friday @ 5:00 is to give you, as the parent(s), resources to have conversations about Jesus, with your family.

This week in Chapel, we talked about the Church. We encouraged our students to go to church on a weekly basis. We read from Ephesians 1:15-23 where Paul dives into the glory of God the Son and how Jesus is the head of the Church. The point of the message was to clearly communicate to our students that as the Church, our purpose (and the purpose of the Church) is to glorify God. That is our central purpose in life and that is why BVCS is Christ-centered. Because whatever we do, we do it to glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31). 

We took a moment, this morning, in our 1st-3rd chapel to point something out to our students. If you look at the top picture on the left you will see a large number of parents in attendance of our chapel. During our 1st-3rd chapel today I took the time to have our parents stand and our studnets to turn around and see how many parents were in attendance. I pointed out the legacy of faith that is for our students and how God is working in ways that we do not even know. I further encouraged them, that even if your parent(s) is/was not able to be here, they are making the choice to have you come to BVCS and how that is a legacy of faith. This is just one of the many ways God moves and works to build His Church.

Take a moment this weekend and ask your child(ren), what does it mean to go to church? Talk to them about why we go to church and the purpose behind it. Ask them what it means to glorify God. Give them time to process these questions and make your conversation last the entire weekend. On your way to church on Sunday, ask them what they are excited about for church and encourage them to be listening to what God is telling them through His Word, the Bible.
