This site has been developed to provide educators with high-quality SEL learning curriculum and resources (for both in-person and virtual learning). The curated curriculum resources are dedicated to increasing the SEL knowledge and skills of PK-12 students and educators.
This high-quality curated SEL learning curriculum was developed to be accessed by Indiana educators, relevant for PK-12 students and specific to the Indiana SEL Competencies.
What is Content Curation?
Content curation (or resource curation) is the process of sorting through the vast amounts of content on the internet and presenting the best resources in a meaningful and organized way. Content curation is a critical skill in this time of information sensory overload. It can be common that people haphazardly list numerous online resources, thinking quantity is better than quality, well-thought out resources.
The five-step process listed was used to create this site for your use.
1. Search: A detailed search was conducted to collect multiple digital resources.
2. Read & Review: At this point, we used a critical eye to read and review the wealth of resources collected; the focus was on examining resources for quality and integrity of the item/website/curriculum/information reviewed.
3. Filter: During this stage, we removed tools/resources from the list that did not meet our criteria.
4. Organize: Once the filtering process was complete, we took time to organize the resources, items, tools in such a way that is logical and user-friendly.
5. Share: In this final stage, we are disseminating the curated curriculum to others. For this component of the project, content was curated to create a PK-12 SEL curriculum specific to enhancing the skills required to be successful in the virtual learning environment. The PK-12 SEL curated curriculum addresses all of the Indiana SEL Competencies.
