SAT/ACT

College Admissions Tests

Should I take the SAT or ACT?

This information is subject to change, but for the Class of 2024, the UC schools and CSU schools will be test blind. They will not consider your SAT/ACT scores even if you do submit them. Private and out-of-state public schools may require SAT/ACT scores or they might not. Check the admissions website of each college you are interested in.

Colleges have no preference of one test over the other, so you should take the exam that you can do better on. This is different for each student so it is recommended that you take both. Most colleges will only consider your highest score.
