As of 2021-22, Bellflower Middle School is no longer offering Accelerated Math 7. All students will now take Math 7 and will have the opportunity to move into Accelerated 8 which combines Math 8 and Integrated Math 1.
Students who are placed in Accelerated Math 8 will receive high school credit for completion of high school level Integrated Math 1 (IM1). For this, reason, students who are placed in Accelerated Math 8, are expected to:
Demonstrate high levels of proficiency and mastery in key Math 7 concepts and standards.
Demonstrate consistent, high levels of work ethic.
Have a positive attitude and growth mindset.
Be willing to attend PRIDE Time sessions this year for potential Accelerated Math 8 students,
Complete summer assignments to improve proficiency and mastery levels of pre-requisite course material.
If you are interested in placement into Accelerated Math 8, you must discuss it with your Math 7 teacher before Friday, March 11th.
For the HS Progression, it is also possible to skip Math Analysis and take AP Calculus AB with the following conditions:
Minimum A- in IM3 Honors
Attendance and completion of supplemental during the IM3 Honors year.
