Welcome to the Burrell High School Gifted Services Website!  My name is Megan Aranyos, and I have the privilege of overseeing your child's Individualized Gifted Education Plan this school year.  At the heart of our work, the gifted program is grounded in the Burrell School District's mission to empower students to learn, create, lead, and succeed.  As your child's gifted coach, my goal is to foster enriching learning opportunities that support each student in realizing their full potential while honoring their unique strengths and talents.

Our gifted students have daily opportunities to be challenged in their core academic classes.  We also offer extensive electives that enhance engagement and motivation.  Our gifted students also will have the opportunity to stretch themselves intellectually through experiences beyond the classroom in the form of specially-designed experiences and extracurricular activities.

This year we are continuing the Gifted Peer Mentor Program which supports incoming freshmen as they transition to high school.  Each freshman will be paired with a sophomore mentor who has recently completed their first year in the building and can provide valuable insights and support.  Mentor pairs will communicate via email and may meet in person in the school library as needed.  Together, they will explore class schedules and expectations, teaching and learning styles, extracurricular opportunities, and ways to actively engage in the school community.

As our program continues to evolve, I will keep families informed through updates on our Google Site, Google Classroom, and regular email communication.  Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding your child's gifted education.  I would be happy to meet with you during Freshman Orientation or Project Discover.  I look forward to partnering with you and supporting your child's educational journey.
