Welcome to the Huston Middle School Gifted Services Website!  My name is Megan Aranyos, and I will oversee your child's Individualized Gifted Education Plan this school year.  At the core, the educational philosophy of the HMS Gifted Program is aligned with the Burrell School District's vision of empowering students to learn, create, lead, and succeed.  My goal as I assume the role of your child's gifted coach is to help facilitate learning opportunities that will allow your child to develop his or her full potential, while honoring your child's unique abilities.

Our gifted students engage in daily opportunities for academic challenge within their core subject areas. In addition, we offer a wide range of elective studios designed to spark creativity, connect learning to real careers, and deepen student engagement.  Beyond the classroom, gifted students are encouraged to extend their intellectual growth through independent research, specialized learning experiences, extracurricular activities, and a variety of enrichment opportunities and academic competitions.

As the structure of the program evolves this year, I will update this Google Site and the 5-8 Gifted Google Classroom, and will communicate with you via email to keep you informed.  Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns about your child's gifted education.  Let me know if you are interested in meeting with me any time during Parent-Teacher Conferences on 11/10.  I look forward to working with you.
