Did you know that using your dishwasher is actually more efficient than washing your dishes by hand? You use less hot water and electricity costs for new units can run as low as $25 for the year.
Run the water in your kitchen sink until the water is hot before turning on your dishwasher. This allows for better cleaning and more efficient operation.
Manufacturer recommendations on filter cleaning vary from monthly to every 6 months. We recommend cleaning on a regular basis, you can never be sure what has gotten into the filter or when. A clean filter allows for efficient operation and reduces strain on the unit. You should never need to replace a dishwasher filter.
Odour problems? Clean the filter and run a cycle with cleaning vinegar. Dishwasher cleaners are better for lime and scale buildup but vinegar is best for neutralizing odours.
Clean your grease filters regularily using warm water and dish soap. Placing in the dishwasher can cause discolouration and premature wear. If your hood fan has grease traps be sure to empty and clean them at the same time.
Charcoal filters are only used when a hood fan does not vent outdoors. They cannot be cleaned and should be replaced at least every 6 months.
Under construction. More to come!

Ensure the ice maker is turned on and wait until the catch bin is at least half-way full of ice. Discard this batch of ice and your waterline and ice maker are ready.
Water filters normally require replacing every 6 months. Most new refrigerators have an indicator light that will need to be reset after replacing your filter.
It is recommended to purge your waterline and icemaker after replacing your filter (see above)
Front load units have a filter that must be cleaned periodically. It is normally located behind a cover on the bottom left hand of the front of the unit.
