STUDENT SAFETY CONTRACT -D20 Engineering Lab
Dear parent or guardian,
Your child is participating in Computer Aided Design. Throughout this course your child will have the opportunity to use various tools and equipment in the lab. Appropriate instruction will be given in their safe operation and supervision is maintained at all times. Although every precaution is taken to prevent accidents, there is a level of risk due to the nature of the experience and the learning environment. We are asking you to impress upon your child the importance of being careful and to abide by the safety instruction given. The use of tools and machinery is optional and your child’s grade will not be affected if they elect to not participate in this aspect of the course.Thank you very much for your help and assistance in providing your child with the “real world” experience of technology and engineering in a safe working environment.

I understand the program that my child is a part of can be dangerous if the safety rules and procedures are not followed. I will stress the safety aspects of this program to my child. I understand that if my child fails to comply with the set rules and procedures, disciplinary action and/or alternate assignments may be provided. I also acknowledge the grading policy aforementioned.
