Our Meadow Area was first created in 2020 from a piece of our playing field. It is home to many wild flowers and we have spotted many different insects coming to visit.

An important task each year is to scarify the meadow area. this means almost everything is raked away until you can see the soil.

Yellow Rattle seeds are planted. These feed off the grasses, which keep them down, allowing other wildflowers to grow.

As well as wildflower seeds, wildflower plants are also planted to make sure they grow in the meadow.

The meadow has not been scarified for the last couple of years and the grass has started to dominate the area. It will be time in the autumn to scarify the ground again and add more yellow rattle seed.
