Community Tree Project

We applied for 'Copse in a Box' materials to help us start a tree nursey. 

All pupils in teh school planted a tree seed.

Each seed had its own pot or compartment to grow in.

We labelled each pot.

Hundreds of tree seeds were grown. We used a space in the pond area as our germination nursery.

The next spring, the seeds began to grow.

We planted: oak, beech, horse chestnut, sycamore, rowan and ash,

This tray of beech seedlings grew healthily.

We had an assembly in school to celebrate Nation Tree Week.

Using funding from The Tree Council, we developed a tree nursery in our school garden area.

The trees were potted up into larger plants.

Each year, the Year 6 leavers have a chance to take home a tree they had planted some years before to help plant a Community Woodland in Bridlington.
