I am now in my 35th year as an educator, I am very excited to be working as the Instructional Technology Facilitator at Valdese Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, and Forest Hill Elementary. I am native of Michigan, but have lived in North Carolina since 1988. I have had the opportunity to teach AIG classes at the elementary school level, 4th grade, 5th grade, computers, served as a media coordinator at Mountain Crest / Hillcrest, and work with various schools as an Instructional Technology Facilitator during my time with Burke County Public Schools.

I have two daughters. My youngest, Avery Weaver, is nurse in the ER at Valdese Hospital and continuing her studies for her BSN through UNC Wilmington online. My oldest, Erin Moody, is a first grade teacher at Salem Elementary School. As of June 2018, I have joined the awesome ranks of being a Grandma and I am loving it! I currently have two grand daughters, Adelyn, age 4, and Sophia, 6 months of age.
