What is S2S?
Student 2 Student is a program that brings military and civilian students together to welcome new students, create a positive environment , support academic excellence, and ease transitions. Our S2S program teams with other S2S programs throughout BISD to make Burkburnett schools an inviting place.
2022-2023 Accomplishments:
Board Games w/the Gang- We had an EOY social with our military students and played board games while enjoying some snacks.
The Month of the Military Child- S2S members provided snacks to military students, friendship bracelets and held an appreciation breakfast. They also decorated the hallway with posters.
Emergency Donations- S2S members brought everything from clothes, books, school supplies, toiletries and gift cards for an ORE student who lost their house to a fire. (non-military)
Dessert Drive- The S2S group donated desserts for the airmen who would not get to go home for Thanksgiving.
S2S Patriotic Social- S2S members and military students got together after school and did some art that was displayed during the 4th Grade Veterans Program.
Christmas Social- S2S members and military students got together for pizza and games to end the semester.
Bring the Change, Be the Change Campaign- S2S members held a campus coin drive to raise money for Burkburnett's Meals on Wheels. A check was presented to Meals of Wheels for $2,412.63.
Proclamation- Four S2S members participated in the Proclamation signing.
