Overton Ray Elementary takes great pride in welcoming our military families! Every student who walks through our doors brings something special, with unique experiences, perspectives, and stories shaped by military life. We understand the challenges that come with being a military family, and we are fully committed to making Overton Ray feel like home from day one.

Burkburnett ISD is a proud Purple Star district, a recognition that reflects our deep dedication to serving military families across all of our campuses. At Overton Ray, that commitment shows up every single day. Our Student 2 Student (S2S) program builds real connections between military and civilian students, creating a welcoming community where every child belongs. We go big for Veterans Day and make the Month of the Military Child (April) a true celebration of everything our military kids bring to our school family.
