Coach Richards Physical Fitness & Weight Training
To create a safe, focused, and respectful environment for all students, the following expectations must be followed in the weight room at all times:
Behavior Expectations
Respect Others – Treat classmates, equipment, and the facility with respect. No horseplay, foul language, or negative behavior will be tolerated.
Follow Instructions – Listen to and follow all directions given by the coach or staff. Never begin any activity without approval.
Be Punctual & Prepared – Arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to train with a focused, positive attitude.
No Headphones, Food, or Gum – For safety and focus, personal headphones, food, and gum are not allowed in the weight room. Water in a sealed bottle is permitted.
No Unauthorized Leaving – Students may not leave the class or facility without direct permission from the coach.
Stay on Task – Use class time productively. Off-task behavior or distracting others will result in disciplinary action.
Encourage and Support – Promote a positive training environment by supporting your classmates and working as a team.
Safety Expectations
Use Proper Technique – Always prioritize good form over heavy weight. Poor technique increases injury risk.
Spotters Are Mandatory – Use a spotter for all major lifts, especially bench press and squat. Max lifts require coach supervision.
Warm-Up & Cool Down – Complete all warm-up and cool-down activities to improve performance and prevent injuries.
No Unauthorized Equipment Use – Only use equipment assigned during the workout or approved by the coach.
Report Injuries Immediately – Inform the coach of any injury, pain, or equipment issue without delay.
Re-Rack Weights & Keep Area Clear – Return all equipment after use and keep walkways free of obstacles.
Stay Hydrated & Self-Aware – Bring water, and notify the coach immediately if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unwell.
