S2S is a student led organization that pairs civilian & military-connected students together to welcome new students & create a positive school culture. Core values include: leadership, academics, service, climate & culture, relationships & 100% acceptance.
BMS holds the prestigious title of Special Olympics Unified Champion School! This program pairs students with & without disabilities as teammates to promote inclusion, friendship & understanding. Students work & play along side each other in flag football, basketball, bowling & track (to name a few). They also take part in talent shows & other fun events!
Student Council is a student-led & service organization dedicated to promoting school spirit, engaging in civic duty and fostering student representation under the district's "Bulldog Way".
NJHS is a middle-level student organization that recognizes outstanding 7th & 8th Grade students. It goes beyond academics, evaluating student based on five core pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, character & citizenship.
The Yearbook team works throughout the year to document the academic, sports, clubs, and portraits of BMS. There is an application process in Spring for 7th and 8th graders who are looking to take pictures, write stories, & interview peers and staff.
BMS features Beginner, Concert & Symphonic bands. The middle school program has seen massive success, regularly sweeping regional competitions. The bands consistently earn First Division Superior ratings at festivals like the Castaway Cove Music Festival and set local records a the Regional District Hoor Bands auditions.
UIL Choir refers to the choral music programs that compete in the University Interscholastic League (UIL). 7th and 8th grade members tryout in the Spring to compete in the following year's choir. The BMS Choir consistently earn "Superior" and "Excellent" ratings on their stage performances & sight-reading assessments.
UIL Theatre Arts refers to a competitive theatre program offered by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). 7th & 8th grade students tryout in the Spring to take part in following year's events. Students participate both behind the scenes and on-stage.
BMS offers UIL-sanctioned sports including football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track & cross country. To participate, students must upload all required UIL and BISD physical and medical forms digitally prior to the start of the season. Students can take Pre-Athletics in 6th grade to learn drills and condition for 7th and 8th grade Athletics.
BMS offers cheerleading squads for 7th and 8th graders. The squad promotes school spirit at athletic events. Tryouts are typically hosted in late winter.
