Special Education Induction Coordinator
Special Education Itinerant Teacher (District Office)
• Attend mentor trainings.
• Attend and actively participate in the Professional Learning Communities
• Attend end-of-year Colloquium with mentor teacher(s).
• Meet weekly with mentor for a minimum of 1 hour/week for two years.
• Observe, assess, or provide other mentoring duties up to 2 hours per week.
• Maintain a detailed monthly Activity Log and submit to the Induction Coordinator(s) each month.
• Communicate in a timely manner.
• Organize and implement mentor training, Professional Learning Communities, end-of-year Colloquium, and other program events.
• Meet as needed with mentee or mentor teacher(s) to offer support and guidance throughout the ILP process.
• Observe, assess, or provide other support duties for new Induction members.
• Review monthly Activity Log and provide feedback to mentors each month.
• Communicate in a timely manner.
• Organize and implement induction program to the standards set by the California Department of Education.
• Produce and manage the annual budget for the Induction program.
• Facilitate biannual Induction Advisory Committee meetings.
• Provide other support duties for new Induction members.
• Participate in Cluster, Area, and other regional Induction organizations.
• Recommend candidates for a Clear Credential with the CCTC.
• Communicate in a timely manner.
• Advise on program implementation,
• Review work of candidates who file a formal Grievance, review the ILP and work submitted, and give final decision.
• Review and approve application for Early Completion.
• Attend end-of-year Colloquium or conduct interview, if needed.
• Help facilitate accreditation process.
• Meet biannually with Induction Advisory Committee to review the Induction program.
