Student support is a large part of our day as the school counselors. This can consist of accommodations, 504 plans, testing, talking with students, but it can also be just checking in on your student! We hope to have open communication between home and school. We are here for both you and your student!
When your student reaches 11th and 12th grade, they will begin to meet with Mrs. Catherine, our college and career counselor. She will help them explore their options in high school for Dual Enrollment and when to take standardized tests such as SAT, ACT and PSAT.
Staff support is also a large part of our day here at BA. We are here to provide a listening ear, encouragement, and a helpful hand for our fellow staff members.
When your student is in the spring semester of their 8th grade year, they will begin to meet with Ms. Aubri, our middle and high school counselor. They will meet once a year to discuss their academic plans for the upcoming year as well as discuss some housekeeping to ensure they are on the right track. They will meet with Ms. Aubri until they reach 11th grade, where they will transition to Mrs. Catherine.
At Bulloch Academy, our high school students are to have 15 community service hours a year. Within those 15, five of them have to be in the community. They are due in May to Ms. Aubri. Be on the lookout for opportunities in our weekly counselor email!
National Honor Society students have a requirement of 20 service hours per year.
If a child has a diagnosis, the counselors will create a 504 plan to ensure the student receives accommodations to promote academic success. Communication to the teachers about these accommodations will come from the counselor's office.
If your student has a diagnosis, or if you are concerned about their Academic success, please reach out to the counselor's office.
