Expectations

MWES is committed to positive behavior reinforcement, praise, and friendly reminders of appropriate behavior for our students both in the classroom and throughout the school.  We believe that all students deserve a positive environment for academic and social growth.  In order to create such an atmosphere, we teach, encourage, model, and reinforce appropriate behavior by following the MWES Braves' Expectations and utilizing a point system.

We will be using the Rooms component of the BCPS app to award points to students based on their behavior throughout the day, which will follow the four expectations:  Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Cooperative, Be Your Best.  Based on these points, students will have the opportunity to earn rewards, such as hat day, pajama day, treasure chest, etc.  

Severe behaviors such as non-compliance, abusive language or bullying will result in an office discipline referral.
