Meet the Teacher

Basic Information

Hi! My name is Alex Montgomery and I am 28 years old. I live in Shepherdsville with my husband, Andrew. I attended Bullitt County Public Schools and graduated in 2011 from Bullitt East. This is my fourth as a kindergarten teacher. Before that, I spent 8 years at a daycare where I worked with birth-preschool age kiddos. I got my bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville in 2015 and finished my masters from the University of the Cumberlands in 2018. I am currently working on my second masters to become a literacy specialist! Outside of school, I have many hobbies: I am a lake bum, which means that most weekends I can be found somewhere on the water down at Nolin; I love the outdoors and have recently developed an interest in kayaking; I am a member of a bootcamp gym, so I spend most mornings there, before arriving at school; and I am also a complete bookworm and love nothing more than a good book!
