RocSci knows that every child has the potential to accomplish anything that he or she chooses. Our academic program and dedicated staff allow all students to reach their maximum potential in a safe, joyful learning environment. Students have 3 main academic blocks: small group literacy; Wit & Wisdom; and Eureka Math. Our literacy program is grounded in the "Science of Reading", which has proven to be the most effective way to develop reading skills in students. Our students also have three elective classes- Music Movement, Physical Education, and STEAM!
Students are exposed to direct instruction, project-based learning, and play-based learning throughout the week in both whole-class and small group settings. We also provide an intervention block each day to allow students to receive individual supports.
RocSci offers after school clubs from October until June, Monday through Thursday, from 3:15 to 4:15. The goal of our after school clubs is to expose students to additional activites and/or fields of study. Past clubs have included: STEM; photography; sign language; theater; culture club.
Each year we also do a "Sweet Creations" club in partnership with the Eastman Museum in which our students create two gingerbread exhibitions that go on display at the museum!
