The Bloody Shield was an interesting crime mystery that gives a close look at what goes on behind a homicide investigation. I liked the focus on the investigative process and the different cases Sergeant John West has to work through. It’s a good choice for readers who enjoy police procedurals, murder mysteries, and stories with a realistic investigative feel.
