About Me

Hello! My name is Madelyne (Maddie) Brown (she/her), and I am a Mathematics Ph.D. Candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I grew up on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. I graduated from Bucknell University in 2018 with a B.S. in Mathematics (and a dance minor). I am interested in spectral geometry, semiclassical analysis, and PDEs. I am currently working with Yaiza Canzani and Jeffrey Galkowski to further understand how eigenfunctions on a manifold grow and concentrate.

Outside of math, I like to dance (primarily ballet, which I have been doing since I was four), hike, read, and doodle.
