About Me

I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade this year and cannot wait to take this journey with you!

Some of you might recognize me from Oak Meadow and some of you were even in my 4th grade class a couple of years ago. Crazy, right! I like to take on new challenges and 6th grade was knocking on my door, and I stepped through it quickly.

I have two kids. Sean is the oldest who is entering high school this year and loves baseball. Makena will be in 7th grade at Sutter Middle School in Folsom. She loves soccer and currently plays for San Juan. My husband, Ryan, is a teacher too. He works at Folsom High School in the Special Ed. Department. He loves coaching baseball, football, basketball and girls golf. You could say that we are a sports household. I also have two adorable dogs, and a cat that keep us very busy!

Teaching is my passion, but my number one love is to spend time with my family. I enjoy traveling together even if they are the weekend soccer and baseball tournaments. I love watching movies, shopping, camping, and reading. I also spend a lot of time researching new ideas for my class and even attended a conference this summer on writing. I attended college at Chico State University and earned my degree in Liberal Studies. Then I completed my credential at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California with a CLAD certificate. I have taught in Lafayette and Eureka Union School Districts. This is will be my 21st year teaching and I still get excited about learning new things! I have taught kindergarten through fourth grade and have been fortunate to work with wonderful kids, teachers and parents.
