Catapult arm Topology optimization
A small catapult, rubber band driven, needs to be optimized in weight and stiffness - for my additive manufacturing class - in Spring 2023. A simple analysis shows the FOS of 2.4 for the arm.
Topologically Optimized Catapult Arm
With the right load cases, I used Altair Inspire to optimize the part. The final iteration has a FOS of 1.9 and a 30% weight decrease. This arm's topological features make it suitable for SLA 3D print.
Retractable wheels suitcase
I am currently working on this project where we are trying to design a retractable wheels suitcase. I have worked on the CAD for this project. We are trying to design a mechanism for suitcases that protects wheels from damage through automatic retraction or deployment.
•Single mechanism that controls all wheels
•Gravity-assisted deployment/retraction
•Locking Mechanism to prevent accidental deployment/retraction
Oil and Gas Components
Working in the Oil and Gas industry with Halliburton, I I have modeled and drafted many oil well casing components, out of which I have shown one on the left. My experience at Quest Global helped me work extensively on Solidworks using parametric modeling to design industry-standard casing equipment. I also gained experience with detailed part drawings and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
The Flexi-band/Ear buttons
I worked as a CAD engineer with a cross-functional team of clinicians and engineers for Maker Challenge IV hosted by Challenge America. We addressed the problem of medical device-related pressure injuries to ears caused by nasal cannulas. As our solution, we designed and developed a 'Flexi-band' for patients requiring support with their Nasal cannula and face masks during Covid19 and received the "Best User-experience award" for the same.
