Follow the steps for creating a standard Zoom meeting
Spend a few minutes at the beginning of the meeting reminding folks about accessibility expectations such as ...
Require all participants to turn Video/audio off at the beginning of the meeting
The Faculty member, designated panelists/participants and Interpreters should Start Video/Unmute Audio sharing their video feed. This limited view allows everyone to view the faculty member, the Interpreters and/or a PowerPoint presentation
It can be helpful to assign Panelist status to the interpreters. This allows the Interpreters to be viewed all the time
The Faculty member and Interpreters would remain in the Gallery View. This allows for ASL using participants to pin/unpin any interpreter window
When a participant wants to participate during any portion of the Zoom session they may
use the chat feature
raise hand and wait to be recognized
"raise hand" is found by clicking on "Participants" at the bottom center of your PC or Mac screen. 2. At the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen, click the button labeled "Raise Hand." Your digital hand is now raised
When you are acknowledged, start video/unmute, then participate. Watch the interpreters and make sure they are able to follow you. You might need to pause or repeat yourself.
