As-Salamualykum! My name is Nour Belkhira and I will be serving as President this upcoming year insha’Allah. I am a fourth-year student majoring in Linguistics & Computer Science and minoring in Arabic. I grew up in the city of Revere but I am ethnically from Algeria. My favorite thing about ISBU definitely has to be the close-knit community we’ve been able to foster. The welcoming environment and incredible people I’ve met through ISBU have tremendously enriched my experience at BU, and I am forever grateful for the connections and friendships I’ve made Alhamdullilah.

I was born in Boston and raised in Leominster, Mass and originally from Morocco. I love soccer and have played my entire life and enjoy traveling! I enjoy spending time with family and my people, as well as being active in my free time. My favorite thing about ISBU is the community that we have developed within the brothers. The events and memories created at ISBU are ones that I hold dear to my heart, and I am excited to strengthen these bonds with the community we have on campus insha’Allah.
Asalamu-Alaykum! I am currently a third-year student majoring in Human Physiology and following the Pre-med track. I am originally from India, born and raised in New York. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, reading the Quran, and spending time with family and friends. ISBU has been instrumental in helping me build a strong brotherhood with my peers. From Kahf Circles and Halaqas to various Brother Social events and banquets, ISBU has fostered a community that has helped me maintain a strong connection with Islam. I am eager to contribute to ISBU’s mission and work diligently to ensure that our deen thrives on campus for the sake of Allah SWT.
Salam, my name is Hassan Zahid and I will be serving as Treasurer for this upcoming year. I am currently a third year student in Questrom studying Finance. Originally, I’m from Pakistan but I grew up in New York and have been living in Malaysia for the past nine years. I enjoy playing and watching soccer, as well as watching movies and travelling. ISBU has played a major role in my time here at BU as it has allowed me to meet some of my closest friends through the various events it offers. I look forward to giving back to the community now and working towards expanding the opportunities for Muslims on campus.

Salam Everyone! My name is Laila Yusuf and I will be your Sisters Religious Chair for the upcoming school year In Sha Allah! I’m a senior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Data Science. I’m ethnically Somali, but I’ve spent most of my life in Connecticut. Outside of my school, I enjoy reading and trying new restaurants with my friends. What I value most about ISBU is the sense of community and sisterhood we’ve built, especially during Ramadan. This year, I’m particularly excited to host Quran circles and Halaqas, creating spaces where we can come together to deepen our understanding of our deen and support one another. I look forward to all the religious and social events we have planned and am eager to grow and learn with all of you. I hope to make this year one of growth, connection, and enrichment, In Sha Allah.

I am a senior studying human physiology and computer science and am on the pre-med track. My hobbies include lifting, basketball, tennis, MMA, and obtaining knowledge through watching lectures or reading the works of scholars concerning the deen and the dunya. The community is the best aspect that has made ISBU such a home for me. The brothers have been incredibly welcoming and supportive regarding becoming better Students and Muslims, as the community is always trying to push each other to excel in everything we hope to pursue. As Salam Ailakoum everyone! My name is Allaa Bouzaghou, and I will be serving as the sister’s social chair for the upcoming year in shaa Allah. I’m from Revere, MA just outside of Boston, but I am a proud Algerian. I am majoring in neuroscience and minoring in computer science on the pre-medical track. I enjoy reading, writing, going to the gym, and hanging out with my family and friends. My favorite thing about ISBU is the sisterhood I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of. A big part of my Islamic journey was finding a community to grow and learn with. In Shaa Allah this year I can play a role in continuing to ensure the strength of our community for everyone.
Salam everyone! My name is Ayah Abouyoussef and I will be serving as ISBU’s PR chair this upcoming year InshaAllah. I’m a second year student majoring in bio CMG on the pre-med track. I grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts but am originally Moroccan. I love to hike, swim, and spend time with fam and friends. My favorite thing about ISBU has to be the people. The amount of amazing people I’ve met my freshman year has led me to be super grateful for the great muslim community around me. I’m excited for this upcoming year and looking forward to meeting all of you!
As Salam Alaikum everyone! My name is Mohid Naveed, and I will be serving as the Volunteer & Outreach Chair for the upcoming year InshAllah. I’m a third-year student studying Mechanical Engineering. My family is originally from Pakistan, but I grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. When I transferred to BU after my freshman year of college, BU played a significant role in making me feel welcomed and at home in Boston. I’m grateful for the friendships and connections I have built in my short time here, and I’m excited to continue building even more in the year ahead.
