Thesis Supervision
This is information for students who are interested in writing their Bachelor's or Master's thesis under my supervision.
Important: Currently, I don't have any capacities for thesis supervision.
Please read the provided information before sending me an email with your request.
Also, please familiarize yourself with Uni Bonn's guidelines for the Bachelor's thesis here or the Master's thesis here.
There are a limited number of slots for supervision. Please be aware that most of the theses that I supervise are related to my own research interests (applied microeconomics with a strong empirical focus, for example labor economics, economic history, development economics; check this homepage for details). If these interests are not a good fit with your interests, please consider alternative supervisors at the department.
Students should propose a topic, which we will narrow down together. When contacting me, include
the proposed topic and research question
an extended paragraph that motivates the topic
and, ideally, proposed data/research design (for Master's thesis)
the approximate date that you want to register your thesis
Please be as specific as possible.
In addition, include your transcript, a CV, and a list of advanced courses in applied microeconomics and econometrics that you have taken.
If there is a slot for supervision, I will get in touch with you and we will schedule a meeting. During the meeting, based on the information that you have provided, we will discuss and find a suitably refined topic for the thesis.
