Why would someone want to ban a book? In a nutshell, the book contains something that the person finds objectionable or threatening. Reasons that are often given are that the book goes against one’s religious viewpoint, contains profanity or racial slurs, has depictions of drug use, suicide, sex, violence, or LGBTQ content.
