Ms. Aleckson

Welcome to the middle school!

I'm Ms. Aleckson, and I teach Reading Plus, ELA 8, English 9, and English 10. I am also the Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator and Division 1 Coach. This will be my second year at Blair-Taylor.

I grew up in Black River Falls and graduated from high school in 2014. After graduation, I attended Winona State University where I pursued a degree in Communication Arts and Literature Teaching along with a minor in Communication Studies Teaching.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, writing, doing photography, spending time with my family, and taking care of my cats and chickens. (That gray cat in the photo is Wesley.)

Ms. Belitz

Hello, everyone! I am Ms. Belitz and I am the district's school psychologist and special education director! You have gotten to know me at the elementary school, but I also get to work with the middle school and high school students. You will continue to see me around next year. In middle school, you will see me visiting the classrooms, leading some groups, and assisting with various activities.

In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, Zumba, paint, craft, and learn new things. I just got a new bike, so I have been enjoying going on bike rides with my boyfriend.

Mr. Breidenbach

Welcome future 7th Graders!

Next year you'll have class with me for Geography and Quest! You'll also be stuck me for class again as an 8th grader in US History and Homeroom.

When not at school I'm usually woodworking, playing with my two Labrador Retrievers or goofing around with my kids.

Next year is going to be a good one. I'm looking forward to meeting you all this fall.

Mrs. Eide

Hello! I am Mrs. Eide. I am looking forward to being your principal next year. In middle school, you will find that your teachers are passionate, caring and like to have fun. One of the things students enjoy the most in middle school is moving from room to room for their classes. I think you will enjoy that, too.

I have been a Wildcat for over twenty years. I probably even had some of your parents as students! My three boys grew up in Blair-Taylor. They loved being in band, plays, sports and more. I hope you will, too.

Mrs. Geary

Hello and welcome future Middle Schoolers!

My name is Mrs. Geary and I wear a few hats here at Blair-Taylor. I am the 7th grade Digital Literacy teacher, a 7th Grade Homeroom teacher, MS/HS US History teacher, the Alternative Education teacher, and the JV Volleyball coach. This coming school year will be my third year here at Blair-Taylor!

I live in West Salem with my husband Mike and two dogs, Fluffy and Coco. I have a 20 year old stepson named Kaiden. I grew up in a small town up north called Birchwood, about the size of Taylor. When I graduated High School I joined the United States Air Force and deployed twice.

In my free time I love to travel, read, spend time with friends and family, fish, hunt, ride 4-wheelers, and play with my dogs. .

I look forward to meeting all of you as you transition into a new chapter of Middle School!!

Mrs. Gill

Hello everyone and welcome to the Middle School! :)

My name is Mrs. Gill and this will be my 4th year teaching Family and Consumer Science here at Blair-Taylor! In addition to teaching Family and Consumer Science ( Fabrics and Meals), I am also the advisor of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), HOSA (student organization for students interested in Health care careers), and co- advise the Students Against Destructive Decisions chapter (SADD).

I live in Blair with my husband and sons Adam and Kory. I also have daughter Alissa who is graduating from NDSU and Mercy/St. Luke's School of Radiologic Sciences(Iowa) in May. I enjoy baking, teaching, reading, cross-stitching, anything cat related, and spending time with my family and my animals.(currently--1 dog, 1 cat, and a gerbil).

Hi again! Welcome to middle school!

I am Mrs. Hulne, and I have taught instrumental music at Blair-Taylor for 12 years. I earned my music education degree from UW-River Falls. In 2015, I was named a Kohl Fellow and in 2017, I was named a University of Wisconsin Distinguished Alumni for my work in music education. I am the founder of Couleeland Middle Level Honors Band and I am also a certified judge and clinician for the Wisconsin School Music Association. In my free time, I am a vinyl record collector!

I'm here for you in your transition to the middle school. Stop in to see me, I'll help you when you're lost. My room is a safe space.

Ms. Kyes

Hello! My name is Ms. Kyes. I'm the 6th-8th grade school counselor at the Blair Taylor Middle School.

I grew up in Chippewa Falls, went to college at UW-Stevens Point for teaching French, taught for two years and eventually ended up going to graduate school at UW-Stout for my M.S. in School Counseling. The 2020-2021 school year is my first year as a school counselor. I'm excited to learn about students and help them navigate school and life.

I'm currently living in Osseo, WI and work very part-time at Kwik Trip and Aldi. I enjoy watching TV shows, playing games and want to learn how to play the guitar one day.

I look forward to getting to know the students here at Blair Taylor! Students, feel free to stop by my office and chat about how things are going!

Hello, My name is Mr. Laughery. I have been a teacher and coach at B-T for "many" years. I live between Holmen and Galesville with my wife Jodi and our two dogs, Mosely and Charlie. Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, and any outdoor activities.

This coming year I will be your science teacher with some of you also being in my home room. I would like to welcome all the incoming 7th graders into the Middle School this coming fall. I am very excited to have the opportunity to get to know each and every one of you during the upcoming year.

As you are making the jump to the next grade level at Blair-Taylor, you may be a bit nervous but rest assured that all the teachers and staff will be here to help make the transition as smooth as possible. In the Middle School, one of our mottos is to work hard and have fun, and with a wide variety of electives and activities available, everyone is sure to find something to enjoy and inspire them to be their best.

Mrs. Perry

Hello everyone & welcome to the Middle School!

My name is Mrs. Perry and I am the Business Education instructor at Blair-Taylor MS/HS. I'm also the advisor of our FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter, BT Lettermen's Club advisor, MS/HS yearbook advisor and oversee our school store & concession stand areas.

I have two wonderful children: Sgt Jackson Perry who is a paratrooper in the US Army and Lauren who just finished her sophomore year at UWL who is studying to become a physicians assistant. My husband, Todd, is an insurance agent with Tricor Insurance. We also have a German Wirehair Pointer, Kolar, who is an awesome dog!

In my free time I love to travel, read, spend time with friends, fish, golf, and walking our dog.

I look forward to meeting all of you as you transition into a new chapter of Middle School and high school!!

Mrs. Posa

Welcome to Middle School!

I am Mrs. Posa and I am the Special Education/Resource Room teacher. I have been teaching for 8 years and I have taught in four different states. I earned my bachelor's degree, in Elementary and Special Education, from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. My family and I moved here from Alabama at the beginning of last school year. In my free time I go for walks with my family and I love to listen to music.

Although I'm the Special Education teacher I am here for all please stop in and say hello whenever you want. I'm a good listener and problem solver. I am here for all!

Mrs. Stephenson

Hello future 7th graders!

My name is Mrs. Stephenson. I will be your 7th grade math teacher. Next year will be my ninth year teaching at Blair-Taylor. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics form the University of Wisconsin---La Crosse. I am currently working towards my Masters of Education and Math Specialist Degree online through the University of Wisconsin--Stout.

I have learned that learning is a lifelong journey. In math there is often times one correct answer, but more than one way to get to that answer! It will be interesting to see the different methods you use to solve different problems. I look forward from learning form you all next year!

Outside of school I enjoy being outside with my family. We enjoy camping and hiking during the summer months.

Mrs. Swenson

Hello future middle school students! I am Mrs. Swenson, many of you have seen me at ball games and/or at school activities as I am Eli and Evelyn's mom.

Hobbies I enjoy include: gardening, fishing, working with farm animals, cooking and reading. I feel very blessed to be able to enjoy these activities.

Outside of being a mom, a wife, and having many pets, I truly enjoy working with middle school students! I have a 7th grade homeroom, I teach English Language Arts, and I help lead the BTMS Student Council. I have been a teacher for many years and can't imagine doing anything more rewarding for a career.

I am super excited to meet all of you and look forward to an awesome school year next year!



Mr. Van Schyndel

Hello Everyone!!!

I am Mr. Van Schyndel and I will be your School Counselor this upcoming school year! I am so excited to see all your faces in the middle school hallway. I have heard great things from all of your teachers. This upcoming here we have so much planned for you and I know we will enjoy every second of it. When entering Middle School you get to decide what classes you want to take, talk about your future career, take classes with students in other grades, get to know more teachers, and have the opportunity to visit me in my office as well. I know all the teachers and myself are very excited for you to join our Middle School team.

Mr. Witz

Hello everyone and welcome to the Middle School! :)

My name is Mr. Witz, and this will be my 4th year directing the choirs here at Blair-Taylor! (It is hard to believe how quickly the time has passed.) In addition to directing the Choirs, I am also the enrichment coordinator for the Gifted and Talented program and teach a Character Strong class... "Principles of Leadership".

I live in Onalaska with my family, and teach voice lessons in the evenings at the Onalaska Music Academy. I am also an adjudicator for LAMTA, WSMA, NATS, & the Classical Singer Auditions. I enjoy singing, teaching, hunting, fishing, and I work construction during the summer months.

I want to welcome all of you to the middle school, and feel free to stop in and say "hi"... my door is ALWAYS open! Life is a song WORTH singing, and I encourage all of you to consider taking choir and helping me fill the halls of our school with your beautiful voices! Can't wait to see/hear you all!
