School Counseling Program Mission
Blair-Taylor School Counseling program has a mission to provide all students with equitable access to social and emotional, academic, college and career development through a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program. As the school counselor, I will use the school data to set mindsets and behavior standards to deliver the best support to all Elementary students. I will advocate for all student's needs through collaboration with parents, educators, and community members to ensure students have the abilities to flourish as responsible productive citizens. Blair-Taylor counseling program will advocate empathy, respect, diversity, and equality for all students.
Implemented Strategies
Many of the strategies that are used with students are enhanced by the collaboration with passionate teachers and administration, community agencies, or research-informed social emotional curricula or programs, such as Zones of Regulation and Second Step. However, there are times when additional support may be needed and therefore outside referrals would be made. Below you will find links regarding curriculum as well as other evidence based approaches that will be used frequently with students in the classroom as well as individual/group settings.
