Blair-Taylor School District Belief System
All students can reach their full potential.
School counselors act as advocates for their students.
All students relieve equal access to the counselor.
All students should receive respect and unconditional positive regard from the school counselor.
Confidentality
The counseling relationship between the student and counselor requires an atmosphere of trust and confidence. Students must trust the counselor in order to enter a meaningful and honest dialogue. However, students should be informed that exceptions to confidentiality exist in which a counselor must inform the proper authorities of statements made in a counseling session. This prevention ensures serious and foreseeable harm to students themselves or others.
Collaboration
Blair-Taylor Counseling program will collaberate with school personnel such as school psychologists, social workers, and the special education department to ensure all students needs are being met. There re frequent team meetings to discuss students that are considered at risk students that may need additional support and services. Team members will create appropriate interventions for these students and come up with goals adn procedures that meet all of Blair-Taylor students.
