Online Reference Centre - ORC

What is the ORC?

Learn Alberta's Online Reference Centre (ORC) licenses digital resources for use in Alberta K-12 classrooms at NO COST to the school. The ORC is a source of vetted online reference resources that support the K-12 curriculum. In addition, all of the ORC resources are accessible anytime, from anywhere with an Internet connection. All Alberta teachers, students, and parents can access resources within the ORC for FREE!

These resources include:

  • 24/7 access to newspapers and magazines
  • interactive political, topographical, and historical maps
  • eReference books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri and statistics
  • earth and life science resources and much, much more!

You can visit the ORC here.

NOTE: If accessing the ORC from home, you will require a username and password. Please ask your teacher, principal, or Learning Commons Facilitator for these.
