The Wellness & Resilience Retreat (W.A.R.R.) is a four-day retreat created by Black Transmen of Ohio for Black trans men and transmasculine people. The retreat provides opportunities for connection, reflection, personal growth, and community-building in a supportive environment.
The 2026 Wellness & Resilience Retreat will take place September 18–21, 2026.
The retreat takes place in Ohio. The exact location will be shared with accepted participants prior to the event.
The retreat is designed for:
Black transgender men
Black transmasculine individuals
Black AFAB nonbinary individuals
Do I have to live in Ohio to attend? Priority is given to Ohio residents. Limited spaces may be available for participants traveling from outside Ohio. Participants outside of Ohio must provided their own transportation to Ohio.
Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend.
No. Membership is not required to apply or attend.
Absolutely. Many participants attend for the first time and find the experience welcoming, supportive, and accessible.
There is a $25 registration fee to confirm your participation.
The actual cost of the retreat is significantly higher, but BTMO and our supporters help cover lodging, meals, programming, and transportation support.

Yes. Limited registration-fee scholarships may be available for participants experiencing financial hardship.
Applications are reviewed by the retreat planning team. Applicants will receive notification regarding their application status and next steps.
Applications close on July 15, 2026.
Yes. Lodging is provided for all accepted participants.
Yes. Meals and snacks are provided throughout the retreat.
We do our best to accommodate dietary needs and food allergies. Participants can share this information during registration.
Transportation is available within Ohio as needed.
Participants traveling from outside Ohio are responsible for arranging transportation to Ohio.
No. The retreat is limited to registered participants only.

No. The retreat is intentionally designed to balance activities with downtime and opportunities to relax and connect organically.
Yes. Weather permitting, participants may engage in outdoor recreation, reflection activities, and group experiences.
No. While we encourage engagement, participants are welcome to participate at their comfort level.

Yes. Participant privacy and confidentiality are important to us. We ask all participants to respect one another's boundaries and personal information.
Participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, affirming, and supportive environment. Harassment, discrimination, or behavior that compromises the safety of others will not be tolerated.
The Wellness & Resilience Retreat is hosted by Black Transmen of Ohio (BTMO), a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting Black transgender men and transmasculine individuals through community-building, advocacy, and resource access.
