ABORIGINAL POET: OODGEROO NOONUCCAL

We will be studying some of the poetry of Oodgeroo Noonuccal to help us understand Aboriginal voices and experiences. Before we read her poetry we need to understand who Oodgeroo Noonuccal was.

Tasks:

Referring to page 9 in your workbook,

1. Research and create a biography of Oodgeroo Noonuccal.

3. Complete a written biography of Oodgeroo Noonuccal. This must be done using proper sentences and paragraphs for each heading listed below.

4. Your biography should include the following information:

● Education

● Marriage and children

● Her journey as a poet

● Experiences as a political activist

● Poems and awards

** Extension - include quotes or exerts from Noonuccal's poetry that you find interesting or are good examples of techniques.
