Student-Led Conferences at BTECH

Please note that all SLC's will now be conducted via phone or video conference. Parents and students are still expected to participate during the SLC.

Continue to schedule appointments that will work for you by phone. If you need a new appointment time, please make any changes or new appointments by Monday, March 16th. Advisors will confirm your appointments and call at your scheduled appointment time.

Welcome to BTECH's Student-Led Conferences information page! This page will provide you information about the student-led conference model that is used at BTECH, keep you up to date with workshops happening on SLC Day and provide students, parents and teachers the resources and tools they need to make this day a success.

BTECH's next SLC will be on March 19th.

Please note that on Thursday, March 19, 2020, the school day will be shortened from 8:03-11:09 a.m. Students will be dismissed after their regular fourth period classes.

Vision for 2020 from our SLC Task Force:

To give students the opportunity to advocate for themselves, discuss their strengths and weaknesses and determine their areas of improvement and growth. SLCs are an opportunity for students to reflect, goal set and utilize teachers and their families as resources and support.


What is a Student-Led Conference?

A student-led conference is a conference with parents led by the student. The role of the classroom teacher is a facilitator in the conference process. Students lead parents through a discussion of their work and established academic and social goals.
