March 3rd and 4th, 2025
5:00-7:00pm
The Bristol, Tennessee band program will be hosting two Instrument Selection sessions for rising 6th grade students at Tennessee Middle School. You may choose to attend either night. This selection session will provide rising 6th grade students the opportunity to try the different instruments of the band. Families will need to enter the building through door #24 beside the TMS gym. Parking is available in the main parking lot off of Edgemont Ave.
The BTCS band directors have organized the process to assess each student's compatibility with various instruments. The instruments we teach at this level include: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion (percussion is limited to a small number of students).
Parents, please accompany your student into the school and meet with the directors. We would love to meet you and talk through any questions or concerns you may have about your child joining our band program. You may also set up a private appointment by contacting Mr. Finch (finchs@btcs.org). Trying the instruments and any instruction given is free of charge.
Pamphlets from our music dealer, Music Doctors Inc., will be available for those interested in learning about their instrument rental program and/or buying an instrument.
We place a great emphasis on health and safety precautions, especially since the on-set of the COVID-19 pandemic. Student safety, mouthpieces and equipment will be sanitized based on regulations set forth by the NFHS.
