1. TWIGS students must always be signed in and signed out.
2. Once students have signed in, they must remain in the building until it is time to be picked up after class.
Students may not leave the building during breaks.
3. All students must be prompt for their scheduled class(es).
Please ensure all students are on time for class. Students who arrive before their class time must wait in the cafeteria (except Dance students). Baltimore School for the Arts High School classes and rehearsals are in session during TWIGS arrival. Students may read or do school work while waiting for class to begin. A TWIGS administrator will supervise students during wait periods at all times. Students are to be in their assigned area of the building only. All trash must be cleaned-up in the cafeteria before going to class.
4. Regular attendance is necessary in order to benefit from the program.
Only enroll if you can fully commit to the schedule on a consistent basis and have no additional or foreseen conflicts. Please see the full Participation Pledge for more details.
5. STUDENTS MUST BE PROMPTLY PICKED UP AT CLASS DISMISSAL TIME.
Parents/Guardians must be at BSA to pick up children when class is over. If a family cannot meet this requirement or make arrangements to do so, the student will risk being disenrolled from the TWIGS program as we do not have the staff to accommodate or supervise students after program hours.
6. Siblings and friends of TWIGS students are not permitted in the building unless accompanied by an adult.
Observing a class is at the discretion of the teacher with permission from the TWIGS Director.
7. We care about our historic building and expect TWIGS students to respect the building as well.
No markings of any kind on walls or damage to school property will be tolerated. Students found in violation of this code will be dismissed immediately. All trash must be placed in receptacles. NO FOOD OR DRINK IS PERMITTED ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING OTHER THAN IN THE CAFETERIA and possibly in the halls or ballroom during rehearsals.
8. Students are expected to be respectful of their fellow classmates and faculty.
Students must keep their hands to themselves and engage in positive interactions with fellow students and faculty. Any type of physical or verbal abuse of fellow students or faculty and/or ongoing disruption of the class (i.e. not following directions, excessive talking/distractibility, lack of participation in activity) is unacceptable. Students will be disenrolled from the program if these types of behavior occur on a consistent basis. We are committed to conducting ongoing observations in an effort to be preventive and not reactive to ensure all students experience a positive climate overall.
9. Cell phones, ipads, tablets, etc. are prohibited during all classes, unless specifically permitted by the instructor and such use is related to the lesson or activity.
10. Monitor your child’s signs and symptoms of illness.
For the safety of the entire community, please continue to monitor your child’s symptoms and keep them home from programming if they are displaying any signs or symptoms of illness. Masks remain optional and TWIGS will continue to follow all BCPSS and CDC recommendations in regards to health and safety protocols.
