Quiz Friday 10/10. Two ideas for how life began on Earth. Study Guides are due 10/9.
This year we are learning about ancient societies focusing on river civilizations in the mid and far east. We begin our study discovering how life evolved on the planet and then jumping to the intricacies of the agricultural revolution. We then delve into the first complex societies in Sumer which become the various Mesopotamian empires. Feel free to email me with any questions you have at: rbattail@bsdvt.org.
Hi, Team Elevate! We just started our first module of the year, which is all about folktales. We are reading folktales from Vermont, and then will expand our scope to reading folktales from indigenous people from other parts of North America. We will end the reading portion of the unit by reading folktales from other parts of the world. The final project for the module will ask students to modernize one of the folktales we read in class.
Please reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or general thoughts. My email address is aferro@bsdvt.org.
Mr. Charles is excited to see each of you and be a part of the new team Elevate! I want students to have a voice so everyone can feel safe sharing their perspective. Currently in 7th grade we are learning about scaled copy while in 8th grade we are learning transformation. We use "Open Up" resources in class along with Khan Academy and IXL math. Feel free to email me with any questions at: pcharles@bsdvt.org.
Ms. Corkum is a gneiss teacher (get it?)! We are currently learning about rocks, geology and plate tectonics. Soon we will move into genetics and then follow up on Mr. Battaile's Social Studies ideas of natural selection and evolution. We'll finish the year with learning about weather, climate and climate change.
Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Corkum with any questions or concerns at mcorkum@bsdvt.org
