We are currently learning about the agricultural revolution. We then delve into the first complex societies in Sumer which become the various Mesopotamian empires. The picture is of The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, and an empire that we are going to learn about. Feel free to email me with any questions you have at: rbattail@bsdvt.org.
Hi, Team Elevate! We are in our final two weeks of the folktales module- yay! Over the next two weeks, students will be researching a monster from traditional Latin American folktales. Then, they will use their researched information to write an original folktale that includes their selected monster as either the protagonist or antagonist in their narrative. This writing task is due on Friday, November 21.
Please reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or general thoughts. My email address is aferro@bsdvt.org.
Mr. Charles is excited to see each of you and be a part of the new team Elevate! I want students to have a voice so everyone can feel safe sharing their perspective. Currently in 7th grade we are learning about scaled copy while in 8th grade we are learning transformation. We use "Open Up" resources in class along with Khan Academy and IXL math. Feel free to email me with any questions at: pcharles@bsdvt.org.
We are in the final weeks of our Geology and Plate tectonics unit! Next week we will be taking our final assessment. This week we are looking into evidence that proves the theory of Pangea. Ask students about their candy fossils!
Soon we will move into genetics and then follow up on Mr. Battaile's Social Studies ideas of natural selection and evolution. We'll finish the year with learning about weather, climate and climate change.
Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Corkum with any questions or concerns at mcorkum@bsdvt.org
