I started practicing meditation in 2016. For awhile it was frustrating because my mind kept incessantly drifting towards unwanted thoughts. But I stuck with it—meditating 10 min or so most days . At some point it dawned on me that meditating was, in fact, hard work—just like everything else in life, I needed to practice, practice, practice to get better and to see some results. After that , I was able to let go of some of my self-critical thoughts about my failures of meditating. Since then, it has slowly gotten easier for me focus my attention and to enjoy some of the benefits of meditating that I was initially looking .
