The unique staff at BTC Preschool consists of a certified, on-site teacher-director and students enrolled in the Human Development and Education program at Burlington Technical Center. Students work in the preschool as trainees, volunteers and assistant teachers, becoming familiar with the philosophy and policies of the preschool, conducting planned activities with the children and eventually assuming preschool operations under the guidance and supervision of the director.

Staff rotates into the preschool on a weekly basis every three weeks.

Each Human Development and Education student is assigned to a preschool child. Students help your child to adjust to preschool by participating in Open House in the beginning of the year and being there on your child’s first day of school. Students also observe this child’s growth and development throughout the year, create a child portfolio for the child and also assist with parent conferences.

Preschool children do not have personal teachers,

all children are the responsibility of all teachers.
