FALL SIDELINE SEASON OPEN GYMS & TRYOUTS
FALL SIDELINE INFORMATIONAL MEETING
Any athlete who is planning to try out for fall sideline season must attend the informational meeting with a parent/guardian on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:30pm in the BHS cafeteria.
OPEN GYMS
BHS Cheer is a CO-ED opportunity! Fall sideline season open gyms are open to ALL current BHS freshmen, sophomores, & juniors as well as D220 8th graders! 8th graders who attend a school other than BMS should contact coaches directly for further instructions. Open gyms will be held on the following dates:
Wednesday April 2nd 5:00-7:00pm, BHS Auxiliary Gym
Wednesday, April 9th 5:00-7:00pm, BHS Auxiliary Gym
Wednesday, April 16th 5:00-7:00pm, BHS Auxiliary Gym
Wednesday, April 23rd 5:00-7:00pm, BHS Auxiliary Gym
Monday, April 28th 5:00-7:00pm, BHS Auxiliary Gym
TRYOUTS
BHS Cheer is a CO-ED opportunity! Tryouts for our 2025-2026 fall sideline teams are open to ALL current BHS freshmen, sophomores, & juniors as well as D220 8th graders! 8th graders who attend a school other than BMS should contact coaches directly for further instructions. Cheer experience, especially tumbling (minimum of a standing and/or running back-handspring), is HIGHLY encouraged for tryouts (see "What to expect" below). Tryouts will be held on the following dates:
Tuesday, May 6th 6:00-8:00pm, BHS Main Gym Area 4/5
Wednesday, May 7th 6:00-8:00pm, BHS Main Gym Area 5
Thursday, May 8th 6:00-8:00pm, BHS Main Gym Area 5
Friday, May 9th (Tryout Results Meetings - Each athlete will sign up for an individual time between 3:30-8:30pm to meet with coaches.)
What To Expect at Tryouts
Athletes will be asked to demonstrate the following skills at tryouts:
Tumbling skills (standing and running)
Stunting skills (flyers must demonstrate body positions)
Cheer (taught during Day 1 of tryouts)
Dance (taught during Day 1 of tryouts)
Athletes will need to complete the following in order to participate. Steps 1-3 must be completed prior to the first open gym. ALL steps must be completed prior to the first day of tryouts.
ALL athletes need to have a current sports physical on file at school (valid for 395 days from the date of the examination). Click HERE for more information/instructions.
ALL athletes need to complete the tryout sign-up form
ALL athletes must have a parent/guardian complete the release form, which is available in English and Spanish. This can be completed either via Google Form or printed copy. *Link will be sent directly to parent/guardian email address after completing the sign-up form!
ALL athletes should review the information packet and 2025-2026 calendar (both documents will be sent via school email) with a parent/guardian to ensure that they can meet all expectations as well as commit to all fall season dates if offered a spot on one of our teams.
RETURNING athletes must attend a post-season meeting with coaches and return all rented uniform items from the previous season.
NEW athletes must have a current teacher or coach complete the BHS Cheer Teacher/Coach Evaluation Form.

BHS Cheer is a CO-ED opportunity! Winter competition season open gyms are open to ALL current BHS freshmen, sophomores, juniors, & seniors! Open gyms will be held once per week in October (specific dates TBD).
TRYOUTS
