During my internship at Saline Memorial Hospital, I’ve gained hands-on experience in both surgery and medical records. In surgery, I observed procedures and helped prepare materials, learning the importance of precision and teamwork. In medical records, I digitized paperwork and interacted with new mothers, improving my communication and organizational skills. This experience has been invaluable in enhancing my understanding of healthcare operations and patient care. And I have learned a lot of things which would help me in my career in the future.

Interning at the Saline County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has been such an amazing opportunity for me to prepare for a career in the criminal law field. I’ve obtained so much legal knowledge through hands-on work with case files, sentencing orders, and more. But above all, having conversations with experienced workers in the field has opened my eyes to the real possibilities ahead of me. Being the youngest amongst so many respected professionals can be a bit intimidating, but it’s taught me to work even harder to prove my value and given me insight into how I’ll be expected to perform in my future career.

Since being in internship I have been able to continue working at Arkansas Leak Detection in the mornings. This leads to me furthering my skills as a plumber and leak detection specialist. This also has let me further my skills in communication with customers, therefore leading into furthering my skills in marketing as well. Internship has also enabled me to get more hours at my job which is needed for my apprenticeship schooling. Which I am the first Youth Apprentice to go to apprenticeship schooling in the state of Arkansas. Without internship I would not have been able to get these hours or even do schooling.

The internship experience has allowed me to have real life experiences, which has taught me lessons that will forever stick with me. This opportunity provided me extra time to be present with my work staff, customers, and also given me the chance to learn skills as an hourly assistant manger. Being a manager at such a young age has come with its difficulties, but given the internship schedule has helped me connect and learn throughout my career, schooling, and everyday life. I would highly recommend the internship program to anyone who is wanting to take that extra step and responsibility. It can be the next step toward your career path and could be a life changing experience for you.

As a student coming into my senior year of high school one of my biggest excitements was being able to participate in the Internship course at Bryant High School! For my job at Bryant Youth Association, I've been able to experience a new lens of leadership and truly learning what it takes to do my best at all times. By me participating in this course It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. Being in internship has given me the ability to actually plan out and really go above and beyond in trying to do better not only for myself but for the BYA kids as well.
