“I absolutely LOVE hiring Internship students from BPSD! We always recruit with the teachers first before reaching out to the public. Some of our best part time staff has come from this program. Many of which stay with us past their time commitment with the school. These students know how to interview, maintain a work/school balance, and fulfill commitments that are made. Even the [few] students we have had that have not stayed with us fulfilled a two weeks notice and left on good terms. ”

“It has been a tremendous help within our organizations and a new sense of pride mentoring these great young people. I believe they are getting some knowledge out of it and I know I'm getting everything I thought and more. I believe this is a win-win situation. ”

The BHS internship program has been an asset to our office. It gives students job experience while helping us fill much needed work duties. It allows students to dip their toes in the legal field while gaining valuable office experience. It sharpens students interview skills as well as teaches them to deal with different sectors of the general public including the courts, law enforcement and probation services. It also helps students that were raised in the age of computers learn valuable skills such as handwriting envelopes, calculating postage, organizing paper files, filing, proper phone etiquette and other general office duties that seem long forgotten

“'We've taken interns from Bryant High School since the program began. We always love having them in the office and the "extra hands" they provide really are invaluable. In the last seven years at least five of the students that have come through here are now physical therapists or in are in physical therapy school”
