From Mrs. Dominique:
It seems like we just finished the first day of school pictures with our cute outfits and new shoes and it is almost the middle of the first trimester! The first floor at Bryan Elementary is gearing up for all the fall events including Pumpkin Day in Cubdergarten, a field trip to the Toledo Zoo for Kindergarten, the Barn Dance for 1st Grade and so much more!!
Thank you to all students, parents and staff for such a smooth and fun start to the 2025-2026 school year. Our diagnostic testing that has been completed shows us that we have some real rockstars who have been reading and practicing their math facts over the summer but are also ready to learn more! We are really looking forward to watching everyone grow over this school year. I would like to thank all of the many volunteers who have already signed up to come in to volunteer their time to help our students foster their learning and growth this year. We appreciate the time and energy that you dedicate to our students every year!
As we move long through the school year, please know I look forward to working with each of your students and your family. I enjoy getting to know all of you and am available for any questions or concerns that come up along the way! Communication is key to a successful educational journey and that starts from day one so please don't ever hesitate to reach out to me if there is something I can help out with. Thank you again for entrusting your child to us at Bryan Elementary and we look forward to a wonderful year!!
From Mrs. Thormeier:
WHAT A GREAT FIRST MONTH OF SCHOOL! It's been wonderful to have so many smiling faces back in the halls of Bryan Elementary and I'm amazed at how the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders so quickly settled right back into the daily routine.
In the upper grades of elementary school we've jumped right in, reviewing and expanding on many of the skills that have been taught in previous grades. From mastering multiplication facts, becoming confident readers, learning how to work together as problem-solvers, or learning how to develop their writing into multiple paragraphs, there is no doubt these 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are going to do GREAT things this year!
As always, the BE staff is committed to supporting each child’s growth, celebrating progress along the way, and creating a positive environment where every student can thrive. As educators many of our proudest moments come from seeing your children accomplish the things that were once hard and then getting to celebrate that accomplishment with them. We hope to be able to work together with you, our families, building skills, confidence, and a love of learning that sets the stage for many more student accomplishments and celebrations!
One BIG piece of working together is communication! Don't forget to make sure your Parent Square account is set up and you add the app to your phone. This will insure you are able to receive reminders and notifications from the school, your child's teachers and other important district information.
I wish you each an enjoyable fall season and encourage you to reach out to your child's teachers or myself if you have any questions or need assistance with anything school related.
Again this year the Rotary has volunteers coming into the elementary each week and spending some time in classrooms reading to the students. A volunteer visits the same class all year long and the students quickly come to look forward to these visits and inevitably are able to build some great relationships with community members outside of our school! Mrs. Walker's 3rd grade class was visited by their Rotary Reader, Mr. Wagner, for the first time and loved the books he brought!
Welcome to the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge - a 90-day journey to help Ohio students build healthy habits in physical activity, nutrition, and sleep through personalized goal setting.
We encourage families to join the fun! Kids are more likely to succeed when the whole household is involved.
How the Challenge Works: Students will start at the Bronze Level and work their way to Gold! At each level, students will use their challenge workbook to select their activities, set goals, track their progress, and reflect on their accomplishments.
Bronze: 6 goals, 10 days
Silver: 10 goals, 20 days
Gold: 12 goals, 30 days
While the challenge runs for 90 days, students are required to practice their goals for 60 days. Not all activities need to be completed on consecutive days. Rest days are okay!
Workbooks were sent home with students in grades 4 and 5 at Bryan Elementary. Be sure to check backpacks and folders.
Mr. Cummins talked with students during PE class about ways they might accomplish their goals and why healthy choices are so important.
This challenge is completely voluntary for students to participate in and is meant to be completed at home!
PTO meeting schedule for 2025-26. All are welcome!
The Bryan Elementary PTO traditionally meets at 7:00 pm at the Elementary school on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
The Parent Teacher Organization is key in making many of the fun and exciting things happen for the students at BE. This group of parents not only fundraise, but volunteer their time and talents to make events memorable and exciting, provide opportunities for all students beyond the classroom and support teachers in new and creative ways each year!
If you are looking for a fun and meaningful way to get involved this is your opportunity! New members are welcome anytime!
